Spring Cottage

An hour from Dublin, with nothing to hear in the evening

6Guests
3Bedrooms
2Bathrooms
€98From

Spring Cottage stands alone in the countryside, surrounded by nature. It's a house to unwind in: thick walls, an open fireplace, and nothing to hear in the evening. And yet you're not cut off: Dublin is an hour's drive away, mostly on the motorway. You can leave after breakfast, see Trinity College and the Book of Kells, walk through Temple Bar and Grafton Street, and be back by the fireplace in the evening — it all fits into one day. Dublin Airport is about the same distance away, so if you're flying in, you can drive straight through to the house. Closer by, you can explore Westmeath and Meath — Mullingar and Navan are nearby, and the area is full of historic monuments, forests and lakes. Inside, everything you need is there: three bedrooms with beds, two bathrooms, one with a bathtub, a kitchen, washing machine and dryer, and a 55-inch TV with Chromecast for evenings when it's raining outside. You check in yourself, using the key box.

What's there

  • Open fireplace

  • Bedroom 2 — king-size bed

Very quiet location at the end of a little country lane with friendly cows as neighbours! The real human neighbours were friendly too, just waving as they passed by, not that anyone passes by often. We had a great stay

Staying at Saskia's home was great. It's a spacious family house where absolutely nothing is missing. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need, the living room has games and books,.....we felt very comfortable and at ease in the house. As for Saskia, she was a great host, she gave us clear instructions, tips about sights. This house was definitely a great choice.

Really beautiful and peaceful. Wifi didn't work. That was the only problem.

Saskia's house is simply perfect and they're the perfect host! Saskia communicated often, clearly and was so friendly. The house was spotless and cozy. We booked it so we could be in Ireland for Christmas with our family. It was twenty minutes from Mullingar - an easy quick drive. The house was so spacious. At no point did we feel like we were on top of each other - like in a hotel room. I really loved waking up every morning and stepping out the front door with a cup of tea to enjoy the fields. The area is so peaceful and typically Irish. I would recommend this property to EVERYONE!!! When we go back to Ireland we're booking Saskia's house!!! WE LOVED IT!

We stayed for almost a week as a family of four. The house is set in the countryside with only a lovely herd of cows as neighbours ;-) It was a great base for trips to Meath, Westmeath (Newgrange, Hill of Tara, Trim Castle…) and even Dublin.

We had wonderful days in this really lovely little house. Everything was spotless and immaculate. The surroundings are wonderfully peaceful and pleasant. And yet Dublin is just a short distance away, and there was so much to discover. Thanks Saskia for having us stay with you. We recommend this little house 100%.

Unique and exciting spot deep in the countryside for anyone who wants to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. This place was perfect for our trip, since we wanted to be equidistant between Dublin and Galway. Just as described, responsive hosts – the house is well furnished, exactly what we needed for our trip. Having a spacious place for our large family, with all the home comforts, is great.

We loved staying at Saskia's house during a visit to family at Christmas, and especially enjoyed the home-from-home comfort and relaxed atmosphere. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend it and hope to come back soon. Many thanks to Claire too!

Very beautiful and excellently equipped cottage! Everything was very clean and the communication worked great, we also found the house fairly easy to find. The house is located almost in the middle of nowhere, about an hour's drive from Dublin, but we already knew that beforehand and rented a car because of it. At first the house was a bit cold, but that's certainly due to its size, and if you turn the thermostat up a bit it works fine. I would recommend packing thick socks though :-) All in all, a very pleasant stay!

Very nice, tidy house with lots of antique ornaments. Beautiful clean bathrooms (2) - 1 bath, 2 powerful showers. The kitchen is modern and well equipped. The wifi and TV options (networks) were great. The 2-person nursery had lots of board games that our kids loved playing. The house is far away from the noise of the city - ideal for peace and relaxation. The owner was very helpful and available, both by email and phone. We left with a very good experience.

Saskia has a truly lovely place. It's very well kept, clean and has all the amenities to make it feel like a home away from home. The house is full of interesting ornaments that really give the whole space character and comfort. Beautiful countryside surroundings that make staying here incredibly unique and relaxing.
